1. Complete Business License Application
- Purpose: To obtain a Liquor License, you must complete an additional Business License application, even if you already have a Business License. This is a requirement by the Washington State Department of Revenue.
- Instructions: You can apply online at dor.wa.gov and complete your application in the Liquor Licenses section. Applications should be submitted 90 days before the anticipated opening date of your business.
2. Obtain TTB Federal Permit (for non-retail Liquor License)
- Purpose: If you are applying for a non-retail liquor license, you must obtain your approved TTB Federal Permit before applying.
- Instructions: Complete an Alcohol Dealer Registration form and mail it to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
3. Obtain Federal Basic Permit
- Purpose: If you intend to sell to on-premise liquor retailers for resale at their licensed premises, or for a Wine Retailer/Reseller Endorsement, you will also need a Federal Basic Permit under the Federal Alcohol Administration Act.
