Cinemark, one of the largest and most influential movie theater companies in the world, recently announced nationwide expansion of its third-party concessions delivery. This made Cinemark the first major U.S. cinema chain to partner with DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats across its entire domestic circuit. A key contributor to Cinemark’s operational success tied to multi-channel delivery? Otter.

Cinemark understands that a large part of the movie-going experience hinges on the quality of viewing snacks. Instead of having to go to the movies to get theater-grade popcorn, Cinemark partnered with the big three delivery platforms to deliver it (along with concession stand candy and more) straight to doorsteps throughout the country.
Optimizing cinematic delivery with Otter
"Our theater teams appreciate all Otter has to offer and its ability to streamline our third-party delivery process, resulting in order increases and productivity growth," emphasized David Haywood.
In March 2023, Cinemark and Otter joined forces to lay the groundwork for the future of concessions delivery operations. Otter's Order Management solution played a pivotal role, seamlessly consolidating incoming delivery orders from major platforms – Uber Eats, Grubhub, and DoorDash – directly into Cinemark's custom POS system.
With Otter seamlessly integrated into Cinemark's POS, the theater can now efficiently manage all delivery orders. It can also update menus across channels and locations from a single interface with Otter Menu Management solution, and automatically accept and print incoming orders with ease. Using Otter's comprehensive Analytics tool, Cinemark can make strategic decisions based on valuable data insights from all their online ordering channels.
Since working with Otter, Cinemark has experienced increased storefront uptime and a notable reduction in canceled orders thanks to Otter’s Auto-Accept and Menu Management features. It’s also expanded orders significantly due to the increased efficiency and uptime that Otter allows.
