We’re kicking off 2024 with several new updates to your Otter experience!
One of the main challenges that restaurant operators face is the difficulty of managing menus. In this release, we’ve implemented several improvements to make managing menus across channels, among other things, a little bit easier.
New in this release:
Storefront and Menu apps in a new Order Manager experience
With our new and improved Order Manager, users can now make updates to their menu and manage storefronts all on the same screen.
With the new Storefront app:
- Stores are grouped and listed by brand
- Pause or unpause stores individually or in bulk
- Status now appears at the top of your screen
- Toggle busy mode on and off
With the new Menu app:
- Improved top-level navigation facilitates faster, easier updates
- Quick search and navigation tools are optimized for speed
- In-line item statuses can be easily viewed and updated
Customer Reports
Have you ever wanted to know more about your customers’ behaviors, trends, or preferences? Have you ever thought that you could use this knowledge to strengthen your business? With Customer Reports, restaurants that have Online Ordering and/or Digital Dine-In now enjoy new customer insights. Learn about eater preferences and track trends over time. Leverage these insights to create successful marketing plans and build loyalty with your customer base.

Live Alerts – POS Injection Failures
Make missed orders a thing of the past! Live Alerts now lets you know when there’s a POS injection failure. Stay on top of connection issues and quickly resolve failures without having to constantly monitor statuses. Otter does the monitoring for you, and will send a notification whenever an order fails to inject to your POS.
Menus – Version History
If you’ve ever wanted to restore a previous version of your menu, you can now do so with Version History. Easily track changes and restore prior menus with the click of a button.
Direct Orders – Nested Modifiers
Direct Orders (Online Ordering and Digital Dine-In/QR code ordering) now supports nested modifiers for menu items. This enables you to effortlessly manage more complex menu configurations through self-service capabilities. (For example: a burger restaurant could offer optional french fries including shoestring and waffle varieties, which can have add-ons like cheese sauce and truffle aioli.)
